To be open or not to be open

Last month we were pleased to be awarded our licence to sell alcohol.  We can now stock some really exciting gift sets containing alcohol. These can be found in our online shop.  And this has caused something of a dilemma.

The Act approved by Parliament on 3rd November details those businesses that must close and those that may stay open.  Included in the list of businesses permitted to stay open are "licensed shops selling alcohol".  We are a licensed shop selling alcohol.  Legally we are permitted to remain open.  However we have chosen not to do so.

Our reason for doing so is simple.  We do not want to be trading due to a technicality while so many other independent shops are closed.
